Privacy Policy

This policy describes the limited information associated with American Canyon Residents Directory and how it is handled. The reference does not require an account and does not keep a resident database. Search widgets and public-record links may send information to the service that operates the result or to the government, library, archive, or other custodian selected by the visitor.

Information You Send

Names, phone numbers, or addresses entered into a search widget are sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result. American Canyon Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those entries on its own servers. A message sent to the contact address contains whatever the sender chooses to include and is used to respond or route the question.

Automatic Technical Data

Hosting services may record ordinary server information such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring page, and timestamps. Aggregate information can help identify broken links, traffic patterns, and technical problems. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement where those services are enabled.

How Information Is Used

Technical information is used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the reference. Visitor lists are not sold by this reference, and it does not intentionally build a profile of an individual reader. A contact message is used for the response requested or for a necessary administrative follow-up.

External Portals and Links

Pages link to Napa County, American Canyon, California, federal, library, historical, and other external resources. Their own privacy notices control what happens after a visitor leaves these pages. The same applies to sponsored result tools and any information entered into them. Check the destination's policy before submitting personal information.

Who May Process Data

Hosting and technical providers may process server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above if their services run on a page. Information may be disclosed when a valid legal process requires it. It is not otherwise provided as a visitor list.

Security and Retention

The pages are intended to run over an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for the operational, security, measurement, or legal purpose that requires them. No account password or personal profile is created on these pages. No security method can promise absolute protection, so avoid sending sensitive information through a general contact message.

Visitors Under 18

The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor sent information to the contact address, use the contact route and request deletion of the message and any associated copy that can be located.

California Data Choices

California's Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, appears in Civil Code section 1798.100 and following sections. Subject to exceptions, it provides rights to know or access, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, and limit certain sensitive-information uses. The Delete Act appears in Civil Code section 1798.99.80 and following sections and created the DROP request route for registered data brokers.

Because the reference retains little visitor information, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and available server-log process. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by Napa County, American Canyon, California agencies, courts, libraries, or archives are controlled by those custodians. A deletion request for a source record must go to the responsible office. California public-record access itself is governed by the California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000.

Changes to This Policy

A revised policy will be posted on this page with its updated language. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
