Private Reference, Not a Government Office. American Canyon Residents Directory cannot pull or certify records, confirm who lives at an address, alter a roll, or release a restricted file. Those requests belong to the custodian. For an emergency call 911; for stalking or harassment concerns, contact local law enforcement.

Need a Particular Record?

Choose the route that matches the question. The responsible office can confirm its own record, explain an access rule, or accept a California Public Records Act request for an identifiable existing file.

  • Address and parcel: use the American Canyon street directory and Napa County Assessor or GIS.
  • Older volumes and past households: use the American Canyon city directory collections and the Napa Valley Genealogical Society.
  • One person: use the American Canyon resident lookup workflow, then verify with the named custodian.
  • Current county records: start with the Open Napa County gateway or the department listed in the relevant page.
  • Unposted records: identify the record, date, address, APN, case number, or document number and request it under the CPRA, Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000.

For a historical question, contact the American Canyon Library or Napa Valley Genealogical Society before assuming a catalog gap means the material does not exist.
